Small Businesses Making Noise in the Construction Industry
On January 23, 2024 USACE held an Industry Day for the forthcoming Camp Pendleton Area Maintenance Support Activity (AMSA) and Vehicle Maintenance Shop (VMS) requirement. There were a plethora of small businesses that attended, and have been highlighted below, that have a wide array of services to offer in support of this impending effort. Services such as construction services, oversight services, engineering services, and design-build services are some of the many specialized areas in which vendors can offer their assistance as it relates to construction services. AlphaBrook has highlighted the following small and other socioeconomically disadvantaged businesses that have recently been awarded construction contracts from various government agencies and/or attended the USACE industry day. Firms interested in supporting future construction services related opportunities should continue to monitor the following vendors as they are making significant waves in this realm.
Borja Engineering and Construction (Borja): In July 2023, this 8(a) small business was awarded a Roof Repairs contract by the Navy which is valued over $1.3M. Borja has a background in construction services, engineering construction, facility maintenance, project management, and HVAC services, solidifying that this firm has a pertinent footprint as it relates to construction services.
