Top Companies Leading The Way in Telecommunications
GSA Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions (EIS) is a massive $50B contract vehicle that is specifically utilized by the federal government for its enterprise telecommunications and networking needs. Despite its significant size, GSA EIS is a highly selective vehicle and has a total of nine contract holders, each of which is required to provide solutions including virtual private network service, managed network service, voice service, and ethernet services. AlphaBrook has highlighted a few of the most successful GSA EIS contractors that have recently been awarded telecommunication contracts. We have also included some valuable firms that are not on the GSA EIS vehicle but would be valuable subcontractors as they are similarly supporting this type of work and possess the relevant capabilities. Industry partners interested in telecommunication services contracts, as well as the GSA EIS vehicle, would do well to align with these contractors and subcontractors in future endeavors.
Verizon: Verizon, a contractor on the GSA EIS vehicle, is currently supporting a contract for DoD Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) which was procured and awarded through the GSA EIS vehicle. This contract is for telecommunications support services, which was awarded to Verizon in September of 2023. Additionally, this firm was awarded another contract through GSA EIS in January 2024 to support DOJ on local and long-distance telephone services. These two recent awards are likely due to this vendor’s impressive array of capabilities, including digital transformation, cybersecurity, voice services, modernization, and more. Considering Verizon’s recent contracts through GSA EIS and its notable solutions, it is undeniable that this firm is one to keep tabs on for future telecommunications-related opportunities.
AT&T: This industry partner holds a spot on the prestigious GSA EIS contract vehicle and provides many crucial services, including data, voice, contact center services (CSS), wireless, cloud, and more. Due to this firm’s impressive repertoire of solutions, AT&T was recently awarded a contract in December 2023 through the GSA EIS vehicle to support DHS U.S. Secret Service (USSS) on data and voice services. In November 2023, this firm was also awarded a DOJ Bureau of Prisons (BOP) contract to provide integrated telecommunications services, which was similarly procured through GSA EIS. Companies interested in telecommunication opportunities and the GSA EIS vehicle would do well to follow along with AT&T.
Comcast Government Services: Comcast Government Services, a GSA EIS contract holder, was the recipient of a Navy contract for Internet Provider Service (ISP) EIS in November 2023, which was procured through the GSA EIS vehicle. In addition to this ongoing contract, as recently as January 2024, Comcast Government Services was also awarded a GSA EIS contract to provide ethernet services for the DOT Federal Highway Administration (FHA). BT Federal, a contractor on GSA EIS, offers many beneficial services in this realm, including networking solutions, cloud, security, communication and collaboration solutions, voice, mobile, data management services, and more. Based on this firm’s experience and expertise in the telecommunications realm, it is apparent that BT Federal is a GSA EIS contractor to keep an eye on.
Avaya: Although this vendor is not currently on the GSA EIS vehicle, it provides many aligned services and has been awarded highly relevant telecommunications contracts. In fact, in September 2023 Avaya was the awardee of a DHS Customs and Border Protection (CBP) contract for telephone services. This vendor offers an array of relevant solutions that make it a valuable teaming partner for GSA EIS related contracts, including communications, contact center support, devices and phones, cloud, and more. Considering this vendor’s notable services and ongoing contract support, it is likely that Avaya will only continue to establish itself in this federal landscape.
Ball Corporation (BAE Systems): Ball Corporation, which BAE Systems has since acquired, has been utilized for various subcontracting partnerships by GSA EIS vendors. Although Ball Corporation is not a part of the GSA EIS contract vehicle, it provides many aligned solutions and supports similar telecommunication opportunities for the federal government. As of September 2023, this firm has been supporting the USAF on a contract for Antenna Electronic Unit (AEU) repairs and services. This win was likely secured due to this vendor’s highly specialized capabilities, which include communications, network operations, sensor systems, radar systems, and more. Firms interested in supporting upcoming telecommunications contracts would do well to align with Ball Corporation, as this firm has proven itself to be a valuable industry partner and subcontractor.
